RNY on 11/28/05 with
I am no help with the insurance, but I had an open RNY. It is good for an open so they can clearly see what they are doing in there. Less chance for mistakes. Also remember that even if you get it lap, there is still a chance that they could have to go in. Just something to keep in mind. Good luck hon. Keep pushing them, you will get what you want. Hugs, Chrissy

Hey I had BC/BS of illinois through my step-mom when I was 17 and we tried for a good 7 months to get them to approve me but they hated me.. lol ... and I don't mean to bum you out but that was my experience with them... they gave me every excuse under the sun and as soon as they asked for something absurd we gave it to them and got another requirement to meet that, magically, wasn't there when we started ... We thought seriously about hiring a lawyer but then my step-mom got fired lol so I lost that battle... I'm not sure where your from but if you are eligible for heath insurance through the state, thats another way to go.. if not then get a job that offers insurance however I don't know much about your situation sooo don't let me get you down.. goodluck.. its worth the wait .. so i've heard

Sweety start building your case, if they want dr supervised vists start them now! What ever you pcp wants you to do as far as your weightloss do it. They (insur. co) want to see that you've tried everything. I'm only four mos into my journey (during this time I will take advantage of what my insure co. will offer to help me till these 12 mos are up). Plan to have it for you 18th b-day (I know it seems like a long time but all this means it that you will have about a year and a half to learn new eating habits). Feel free to e-mail me if u want. God bless Rea
