Sad
I am really realy fustrated and sad. In May I was told that I would be having my surgery in August. A date was even set. But the I had then yesterday I had to go to the hospital for this little appointment. They preceded to tell me that as of August 1st anyone having a gastric bypass must go to several appointments that may take up to six months to do. They just changed how things went out of nowhere. So, if by August 15th I have not been able to go to all of the appointments that I am requiered to do now because they are full, my surgery will be pushed back. That is so not far becuase if they were going to change it like this I could have done all of these appointments in the nearly 2 years that I was waiting to have the surgery. I am sad and things feel so hopeless now....
hey De Anna, dont worry i had many things like this happen to me. my best advice for you would be to look at making these appts with other doctors if the ones you are looking at are full. i needed a psyc eval and a dietary evaluation and both of the doctors my surgeon reccomended were full so i just found the two doctors on my own and i self paid to make it go even quicker. each was about $300 but it is worth it to get the surgery sooner than later. i called different psychiatrists around and told them i needed an evaluation for bariatric surgery, i was willing to self pay and that is how i got calls back ((the self pay, everyone likes a check)) and the same with the nutritionist. dont give up, i didnt and now i will have my surgery in 10 days. keep hope.
love

Hey,
Try not to let it get you down. Try and think of thing that you can do to make the days go by. Maybe start a new hobbie, do something that you have always wanted to do but haven't yet. Do you take any classes like karate? Do you play any sports? Spring is almost here and you could do allot of things with your friends and summer will be here before we know it. You could swim, go bowling, get friends together and go to the movies, play base ball, just get creative and get your parents involved and see if they have suggestions on things that you can participate in. Maybe even go camping, fishing etc. These are the things that my kids like to do. I have a daughter who is 15 and needs surgery to. But I am having a hard time finding a surgeon in Oklahoma to even consider doing the surgery on her because of her age. When we do finally find someone to do it, and if hers was pushed back like yours, I would definitely try to keep her busy, so the weeks would fly by and it wouldn't seem so bad waiting. I'm sorry that this has happened I know how hard it seems to wait, but just try to find fun things to do to pass the time OK? Hang in there, and don't be sad, don't let it get you down.
Good luck sweetie
