New here and just starting out

My name is heather. I am 18 years old and 263 lb's at 5'0. I am looking for advice and need help finding a good doctor. I live in Henderson Kentucky. My insurance already will cover the whole thing. I need to have it done this year since we have met our CAP...thats not the only reason though I also need support. My parents are supporting me a great deal, but not very many friends are. I am looking for people in my area to chat with and maybe meet...Thanks! Heather

Thanks for your reply! Yes peers are very important to me! I got laughed out of HS (sorta)..i am homeschooled now...the laughs and jokes got so bad that i just came home and started learning here!!! I dont have AIM but i have MSN... Where are you at in your journey tara??

hey heather, i'm ashley i live in bowling green. my doctor is DR. Mark Shina in louisville. he is really nice and very through. ( cant spell ) if u want his number i can give it to u ? what insurance do u have? i have bluegrass family health and it took a lil work to get apporve my insurance covered the surgery but i had to be qaulified. let me know if i can help any. Um. i dont live around KY so i cant help ya with the dr, all i can do is goto the find a doc page [http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/selectdocsbystatetype.php] and look up your states docs, and also i would reccomend going to your states message board [http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/state-forums/KY/] and just ask some questions there and see what ppl there say. Hey Gurlie! You said that you are not to far from evansville, I would suggest that you try to get in the Liv-Lite program with Deaconess Hospital. I think that they have a good program and they even have weightloss seminars that you can attend to find out some information. And I think that all of the informational services are free too. Go to discoverdeaconess.org and scroll down to the link that says support groups and click on the Bariatrics support services. Also, if you need to find a good doctor in your area try to go through the Liv-lite.com program. It really helps a lot of people out who are seeking the surgery!
