Ok, I occasionally come check out this board, but hardley ever post/respond. I think it is because we don' think anybody really reads it or because it has the reputation of being "slow". Is it really? I would like to have support, and many others would to. Not just to have the occasional question answered, but to have someplace to go and talk with peers. So, lets all introduce ourselfs... ok? Hi! My name is Mary and I live in California. I am not really a teen, I am 24. Right now I am pre-op RNY... but I already know it will be open. I do not have a surgery date because my Dr. is making me loose another 25 pounds... I have already lost 32 (which will make 57 pounds lost pre-op) Who are you? PLEASE, if you read this post a little about yourself!

Hi, Mary! My name is Megan, I'm 21, live in the Twin Cities in Minnesota and I had Lap RNY on Dec. 13th, 2004. I'm down about 60 pounds. I was 224 the day of surgery and when I last weighed in I was down to 165. I have 35 more pounds to go to reach my goal weight of 130. Congrats on your weightloss thus far and best wishes with those last 25! There are 4 of us in my family that have all had this surgery, all with the same surgeon and all Lap RNY. My boyfriend had it in March of '04 (he'll be a year out on the 24th of this month), my dad had it Nov. '04, I had it Dec. '04, and my mom had it Jan. '05 (the three of us are all a month apart). We're our own support group. It's been an interesting ride so far, the beginning was rough, but every day gets better and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Best decision of my life so far. Keep us updated on your journey! When are you hoping to have a date? How far out are they scheduling for your surgeon?

Hey all, My name is Megan ( there seem to be alot of us on this board) and I am 18 yrs. old and I had Lap Bad on December 15th, then had surgery again on December 17th because I had too much swelling and the saline in my band was causing nothing to pass through, so Dr. Rod had to take the saline out and loosen the band. So, unfortunately I was in the hospital for 3 days, but good thing they caught it. So, its been nearly 3 months and I have lost 55 lbs. I had my first fill a week ago and so far I dont feel any more restriction so I am about to call and schedule another one.
