Hello, I have not had bariatric surgery yet, but possibly this summer. My surgeon wanted me to wait until I was at least 17, which I am now, but would still need to wait until summer because of school. But anyways, I have been eating more healthy but I feel like I'm actually GAINING weight instead of losing weight! Has anyone had this issue? I am over 350 lbs right now, so I am kind of wondering if maybe its possibly my skin becoming looser & is making me feel bigger? Because my clothes feel weird also & its kind of worrying me! If anyones had a similar prob and knows if this is normal or not, please tell me! Thanks!!!

You could start weighing yourself weekly or taking measurements? I'm guessing you aren't doing either because you say you "feel" like you are gaining. Good luck!

Hi Doris This happened to me two years ago, I was also 17 at the time and my surgeon at the time told me I should try and lose 30 lbs before surgery. I went on a strict diet, no carbs, sugars or fats. After the first two weeks I was freaking out because I thought I was gaining weight. I got on the scale and it showed I had only lost 5 lbs, but when I measured myself I had lost a total of 14 inches. It was crazy. So weigh yourself, and if there isn't much of a difference, then measure yourself. You might find that with your pants they may feel weird because you're losing off your behind and not your front.....it's hard to say. So weigh and measure yourself, then let us all know.
