hey sarah my name is meghan, i think ur doing the right thing thinking about surgery in all. im 5'4.75 inches tall and im 378lbs. im having a bilio pancreatic diversion with duodenal switch on april 28th.i think its a good idea at your size to have surgery. wahts are your stats and age?im 16 and i turn 17 on feburary 11th...its coming up so fast.well you can im me at aim/aol instant messenger at blitzbabe0053 and email me at [email protected]
i also own one of the only teen weight loss surgery groups out there on msn and yahoo. if your interested in joining contact me.and i can also tell you about the surgeries that are available out there.the one im getting, its the one out of all the weight loss surgerys out there where u can eat the most, lose the most, and have no dumping syndrome. its porbably a good choice for you cuz your a higher weight then most.and you want that one when your near 300lbs and if you want to lose most if not all and reach ur goal weight, then you want this procedure. cause iuts also the one with the least or if non at all bounce back weight.thas where u lose weight and then stop and start gaining again.with this procedure you lose 80-90% of your excess weight. while with others you lose only 50-70% of your excess weight.and plus with the other procedures at a year out you can only eat like a couple bites of food to 3 ounces of food.with the procedure im getting, a year out you can eat a whole meal if not a lil less then that.well i hope you do your research. and i can help you find asurgeon in your area that does kids to help you find the right weight loss surgeron that will do the kind of procedure you want.well ttyl hunny@!!1
bye

Hey Sarah,
Welcome to the boards. I'm CJ. I would Suggest that you take a long look at the site before you decide on anything. We have some great MSG boards here and a TON of wonderfully supportive people that can answer any questions you may have. The only advice that I have to give you is to research, research, research. The more that you know about all of the different options the easier it will be to make a choice. I would also tell you to check out the main MSG boards, There are a lot of pre-ops asking a lot of the same questions you may have. AND DON"T be afraid to speak up. Trust me there is nothing that you can ask that will not have been heard before, please dont be embarrased. If you ever wanna chat or just want a vent session e-mail me at [email protected] (zeros not Os) and I would be happy to talk to you.

Have you decided on a surgery?
I had the Lap Band, there's also RNY, DS.. those are the most common. Do spend alot of time on these boards, and talk to people who've had each surgery and decide what you want for yourself.
Are your parents ok with your surgery decision, etc?
Sarah
