i see your'e getting lap band is this because of your age. not to discourage you but your weight loss will be slower and you have a less chance than those who get rny to lose the weight and keep it off. i had rny and my friend got lap band i have kept my weight off and eating habits under control. she can eat just as much as she did before she had the surgery because after awhile that bands assistance stops working. good luck anyway just thought i let you know if no one else has.

They have different success rates.... RNY is higher - anywhere from 65%-85%, lap is 50%-65%. Many doctors that started doing the lap-band are now doing less and less and trying to get you to have the RNY for the success rates and studies.
