what age

i know this girl she is about 15 overweight. i thought you have to be 18 or older to get surgery. i just want to know at what age can a person get this surgey. i had it done a year next friday and i am 22 so i just wanted some input

it depends on the surgeon first off then the insurance.

The youngest I heard of was a girl who is 15. There are posts about her on this board, but I can't find the link to her profile right now. While I know it's not the norm, I'll tell you that this girl has had nothing but problems from day one. She had the RNY in February. The doctors can't figure out why she wont get better. Personally I think her body wasn't ready for a change like that, but that's a non-medical opinion. Anyhow, there's what I know

I feel so bad for that girl. Reading that, literally scared me sooo much. I'm a week out (today!) and so far, everythings gone good and I hope it contines too ...

i am not sure if this is true or not but this lady told me and my mom that in cali. they have done this on 9 and 10 year olds.
