Protein ICKY!

Alright everyone, HOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU STOMACH THE PROTEIN!!! I am 5 weeks out and honestly, haven't drank any of the protein, i've tried it, and its nasty. The isopure in a bottle, is to sour an tastes funny...my dr reccomends Pro Complex....so I bought Chocolate and strawberry....i think i may have found ways to drink these...chocolate with peanut butter an banana and strawberry with OJ and frozen fruit....throw ice cubs in with it all an i hope it isnt to bad...i just haven't gotten the nerve to put the protein in my creations yet...LOL....help!!!! hey shannon! i know what you mean. i hate those protein shakes too. i was reading on the main board last night and someone posted this site: http://members.cox.net/vaherd/WLS/Proteinshakerecipes.doc it looks pretty interesting, it's a bunch of recipes for protein shakes. i printed it out and plan to try them later lol. well, i hope this helps! jenny -207 lbs [email protected]

hm... im not that knowledgeable on the different protien drinks but here are some shakes that are really good... http://www.intelligenthealthcenter.com/products/default.htm they have 14 grams of protien and only 110 and lower calories...and their REALLY good!

Hi there! I'm pre-op but have started trying different protein shakes for before my surgery and you are right they are really icky! But my surgeon suggested this "protein shake" and it tastes way better than the mixes you buy. You take one packet of that carb consious (something like that) carnation instant breakfast, 1/3 cup dry non-fat skim milk powder, and 1 cup of skim milk. You mix it all together and drink..it has 20 grams of protien in one cup. Thats actually a little more than most of the protein shake mixes I've found. Also, if you want to drink that rotten protein shake, try putting it in a sport bottle. It tastes way better if you can't smell or see it. Hope this helps! Jennifer K. pre-op 11-15-04
