Another Newbie- 4 months Post-op
Hey guys! I just found this website yesturday and I was trying to meet some new people that have had/are going to have the surgery. I just turned 21 and I had my surgery on June 4th of this year. I have lost about 45 pounds and have had a few minor setbacks, but am still happy that I had the surgery and look forward to reaching my goal weight. I actually just fell below 200lbs. the other day so I am absolutely thrilled. I haven't seen the scale that low in a long, long time. If anyone wants to email me and talk about how their sugery went or if anyone is going to have the surgery and has any questions that I can answer I would be happy to reply! [email protected]
No, I actually had a laparoscopy. Unfortunately, I wasn't eating enough food so by the end of July I had to have a feeding tube inserted into my stomach. The tube never hurt when they took it out and I was in surgery when they put it in so it wasn't a big deal, but they were pumping 1200 extra calories into my stomach from the end of July to the end of September before I was eating enough on my own. I did not lose ANY weight while the tube was in, but as soon as it was taken out I began to start losing again. So really it has been more like a little over 2 months to lose the 45 lbs.
Hi, My name is Rachael I had the rny august 23rd and have lost about 35-40pounds...I live in texas always wanted to talk to people about the surgery and what they can eat and stuff do you have yahoo messenger? im tahjanae_s_mommie on it..feel free to im me. I had the rny too and i thank god for it!!!
My surgery is Nov. 15th. I am having an open RNY/banded gastroplasty. I am 19 and in college too! There sure is a lot of us! I have been reading posts on this site for months now trying to fathom what it will be like. It's so nice to find people my own age describing this..it kinda puts things in perspective.
Hi Sarah!
I had my surgery on June 2 (two days before you) I'm sorry to hear about your complications with your feeding tube. It's good to know that you're doing great now. I'm down about 70 pounds. I had RNY as well, I'm between a 10-12 for clothing right now. Which looks ok because I'm tall (5'9"). I'm excited to see what I'll look like in a few more months! I'm sure everyone feels the same way. It's like the human science experiment. How does it feel to be 21? I'm almost there, My birthday is Feb. 22. I'm looking forward to 21 but not for drinking purposes, just to be able to go to clubs and stuff. Anyway... Good luck on your success. make sure to keep us all posted.
Stacy
Congrats!
My 5 month anniversary is today! *throws confetti*
I started at 319 and I am currently 230something. So I'm about 85lbs down, but I haven't weighed myself on a scale recently(I used my friends and it said 225 and that can't be right because when I went to the doctors a month ago it was 245 and thats just a bit too much to have lost. lol)
