Hey, I'm a week post-op and I am going to start purees on Wed. Do any of you have any ideas on what types of foods are good to puree. I just can't see myself putting chicken in the blender. Well I'll do what I have to do to get through it, but I just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas. Thanks

Pees are really good pureed. You can have mashed potatoes, fruits. Chicken is actually pretty good pureed, just add some salt and gravy, or stick it on a saltine. Also, try deviled ham. If you're out, taco bell has a cheese and beans bowl that is really good. Just be cautious it is kinda spicy. Thats all I can think of right now. Good luck!

Have you tried refried beans (preferibly fat-free) with melted low-fat cheese on top!? That saved my sanity some days! Bananas are good mashed too.

hi, i am not a teen but did just finish the puree stage. any kind of meat that you can cut into small pieces w/ gravy is good also when you puree meat, use vegetable soup as the "liquid" so not only does it add protein, but flavor too. saltine crackers should be a no no at this stage. potatoes and gravy are also a delight. taco bells taco meat is ok too it is ground small enough that it doesn't need to be pureed and sf oatmeal with splenda and butter ymmm. good luck and welcome to the loosing side
