Hi Chris, For my pre-op testing I had a series of labs that require blood work, arterial blood gas where they sick a needle in the artery of your lower had and extract blood (NOT FUN!!), I also had pulmonary lung function test where you blow air into a machiene, barium swallow, which takes x-rays of your GI tract (NOT FUN!!), psychological exam and nutritional exam! Hope this helps Kelli

Chris, Didn't you say you already had a date for surgery? therefore you should already know what testing is needed...i know different states are different criteria but reading your previous posts, things just dont sound right. How can you have a date within only a few weeks period of talking to a doctor?

I think the Pre-op testing is different for wherever you go. I know that for my Pre-op all I needed was blood work, and the routine nutritional, shrink, pyshical therapy junk. Nothing painful ;) It'll all be worth it in the end!
