I am a fresh new 17 yr. old. Getting ready to really get the ball rolling on my surgery. I'm hoping to have the Roux-en-y the first week of June, but I don't think that's going to happen. We haven't even talked to our insurance company. I'm near 300 pounds overweight, so there might be some since of urgency, but I'd like to know whats the quickest the surgery date can be set after getting insurance approval!! Thanks! PS: I NEED AN ANGEL!

First of all, the entire process of getting approved for WLS can take up to 6 or 7 months...so June 1st is really unrealistic. When you say you're near 300lbs overweight, do you mean that you WEIGH 300 lbs or you need to LOSE 300 lbs? (I just got confused, sorry!) And in terms of a sense of urgency...and please don't take this the wrong way b/c I myself am about 100lbs overweight...but if in fact you are 300lbs overweight, meaning that you probably weight somewhere in the 400s...shouldn't there have been a sense of urgency when you hit the 200's and the 300's??????? I mean, 300lbs doesn't just come on overnight!!! Well, goodluck to you, and I hope your surgery works out! ~Meggan

Don't worry about her negative reply asking why you waited, hun. It is none of her business why, and all that is important is that you're doing your best to be the better you now! I wish you well Julie
