not a teen but...
Hey I am not a teen but what the heck. I just wanted to let everyone know that this surgery is more than worth it. I am 21 yrs old and have been big all my life. My highest weight was 369 at age 21. When I got married at 18 I was at 270. Thanks be to God I found a wonderful man who loved me regardless of my weight (Oh yeah and he is goodlooking too..he was a Marine..so do not think you have to SETTLE!!!!)
I had my surgery March 2nd. I was 369 lbs. 6 weeks later I am 311. That is 58 lbs I have lost in 6 weeks. You may get a lot of negative remarks about this surgery with people saying "this is the easy way out" I beat myself up by thinking I was taking the "easy" way out...however, it isn't. You will have to work just as hard as everyone else. This is a tool...not a solution.
I am so proud of all of you who are choosing this life change. So many people wait until they are a lot older. I wish I had done this at 16 or 17 but then again I didn't have the best insurance like I do now. Regardless..I did this at 21 and now have my whole life ahead of me. I look forward to children, grand children, going out and having fun. I want to get on an amusement park ride again. I can't wait.
I notice I fit in booths now. That is amazing just 6 weeks out. Anyways...keep your heads up and God bless.

I have been looking to talk to someone about it , i am also looking into nursing. I am so unaware of so many things and im hoping maybe we can talk.
