Hey Everyone! I'm 18 and will be having surgery in late May (after college and fun stuff like that). Now I just have to plan how to get all my tests done over spring break and stuff. I'm SO excited! Yay for this section of the message board! If anyone ever wants to chat, I'd LOVE too! I honestly check my email many times each day. Hope everyone has a great week! Ashley, I hope your surgery went well (I just found out about this section of board today). Let us know how it went when u feel better!

hi everyone my name is amanda and i am 23 years old. i am far from a teenager but feel very excited for you ladies who have decided to have this surgery. being that you ladies are young i hope you are more interested in the health part of wls and not the vanity part in hopes and dreams of looking like miss britany spears. eventhough that part of it is fun too. good luck and take extra special care of yourself. it is a very bumpy ride at first.

My daughter Amber is thinking about having the surgery. She is 18. I had the surgery 15 months ago and have lost 152 pounds, and I want her to have the same opportunity to live her life. She inherited my genetics - it's not her fault and this is the only chance for her. We only have a few months left before she becomes ineligible for my insurance coverage. If you want to encourage her, please send an e-mail to [email protected] and cheer her on! As for the rest of you, good luck. YOu are so lucky to have found this early on in life, you have an exciting future ahead. I wish I'd know about this - I'm 45 - earlier. It would have prevented a lot of damage to my body and a lot of pain.

Hi I'm 17 I just had my surgery 2-3-04. I went for my consult and 2.5 weeks later I had my surgery. So far I have lost thirty pounds. My insurance paid for ALL of my surgery costs. It was a blessing from God!

My name is Meggan, I'm 19-almost 20 and I have my first consultation with the surgeon on March 12th. I am really excited to get this whole process going. It has been a long road already, and I know it will be longer. But it's so worth it for me. I am the kind of girl that has always heard, "Your face is SO beautiful...if you could just lose a few pounds." Gimme a break! But, I am really ready to shed this weight and move on with better things. I'm tired of weight being my excuse for not succeeding! I am a sophomore in college and I'm engaged. I'll be damned if I am still fat for my wedding, I won't let it get to that point ever again!
