Other Teens out there?
Hello I am 20 and am scheduled for Feb 11th....which surgery are you having? Hope everything goes well. Are you excited? I am excited but nervious. But the thought of getting on the scale and seeing a weight loss and fitting into all my old cloths is definately motivating. Well write back whenever you feel like talking to someone. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
Best Wishes,

Hi, Im Vanessa I'm 17 and I'm not scheduled to have the surgery yet, but i'm scheduling for my consultation. The doctor i spoke to did the surgery on my mom and already said he would do mine. So I"m not as nervous as one normally probably is because I already know what's going to happen and the downfalls as well as the perks. But if you ever want to talk my email is [email protected]. I hope that everything is very successful for you and that you have a very bright and blessed future,
best of wishes,
Vanessa T
Hello, I am 19. I have no insurance health insurance and do not have the money to get the surgery done. I'm not even 100% sure I want the surgery. Well honestly, I don't want the surgery. If there was another way to loose the amount of weight in the amount of time the surgery does I would do it. I do not believe in that Jenny Craig or Weigh****chers crap, that's for people who want to loose a few vanity pounds. At 400lbs, I feel the surgery is the only way to "cure" me. Well lets move to a more positive subject. I'm looking for friends. I just moved to NYC for college. My friends are all beautiful model types. They are good friends, but I feel uncomfortable with them like I don't belong. Interested in finding a friend who's alittle more like me. If you wanna talk you can email me at [email protected]
I didnt have insurance for a while and that held my surgery up. But one day I went shopping and there was this free health insurance mobile car thing and they signed me up all i needed was my birth cert., s.s. card, and proof of address. They gave me medicade 3 months later and then let me pick from a list of insurances for my primary with the medicade as my secondary. It's Health First and there's a link to it on the NYS website. It's a great way to get health insurance. There are no copays and they cover EVERYTHING. Just thought I'd let you know about this. I also live in NY I am 20 and am always looking for new friends. W.B. if you ever wanna chat.
Best Wishes,
Gloria

Hi Ashley!
Well I'm a little bit older than you, however I can relate. I started looking into surgery when I was 18, and since my parents wanted me to wait until the summer had it when I was 19. I had Lap RNY on 5/12/03. I weighed 269 and am 5'3. I had no complications thus far, everything was smooth sailing. I now work out 6-7 days per week and feel great. I weigh 167 at the moment, and would like to get to 130, however I'm not sure if I will ever get there. I'd like to be a size 6, or at least 8. I'm now looking into plastic surgery to have this summer, I want a flat tummy and cute perky breasts :D
If you want to e-mail me feel free!
