Which is the healthier toddler carbohydrate snack?

I listed all of the nutritional information for Gerber graduates  apple wagon wheels, veggie crackers, nabisco teddy grahams in honey, pepperidge farm gold fish snack crackers with whole grain, and gen soy soy crisps in creamy ranch.  Feel free to comment with your choice on my blog.  I obviously have purchased all of them (my daughter loves the fish crackers and the soy crisps best).  I was also wondering if there were any other parents out there with better ideas for a premade carbohydrate snack for kids. http://luvsexytrstno1.blogspot.com/2008/04/which-is-healthie r-toddler-carbohydrate.html

My advise: Stick with the organic foods and even then always read the labels and watch out to avoid anything with high fructose corn syrup!

Even if you do this when you shop yourself, you are at risk when eating out and asking for anything from a server at a restaurant (for instance, peaches, etc).

Also, moms are still at risk of passing on mercury and other heavy metals in breastmilk so if also breast feeding, must be very aware of which fish for instance are ok and which harbor highest levels of metals which can be a risk for the baby.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Wow! Good answer, Dr. Tom! I'm highly impressed! Mom should definitely take your advice on this one. I am having moms I'm helping with overweight kids clean out their cupboards of all the traditional snacky foods. I've even taught a couple of teens to trade potato chips for organic baby spinach! Leaf by leaf, it "eats" just like a bag of nasty chips! I think I'll sleep better tonight having read your answer to that question. Goodness. Wow.
