I need ideas to get my 13-yr-old exercising

How about trading exercise time for time on the game? But not equal. One hour of strenuous exercise (basketball, running, handball, tennis) for 15 minutes of gaming. EARN the right to veg, young person! It's worth it if it means not having the child on high blood pressure meds or cholesterol control... I LOVE kids.

If possible, swimming would be a good exercise for him. Also, something like rowing would be an improvement. The important thing is to remember that it doesn't matter what kind of physical activity or how long to do it. Just get enough physical activity.

There are literally tons of exercises he could do and never have to leave the house. It just takes time and being the adult. We know what is good for our kids, its our responsibility to protect and help our kids lead active lives.
