DOES ANYONE???????

DOES ANYONE KNOE WHETHER AN 18 YR OLD NEEDS TO UNDERGO ALL THE TESTING ADULTS DO PRIOR TO HAVING WLS????? MY INTERNIST SAYS NO BUT I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM ALL OF U!!!!! MY DAUGHTER IS 18 AND WANTS TO GET THE LAP-BAND. ......................ANGELA

I had gastric bypass surgery in November and I was 18. I had to go through all the same testing as anyone that was older than me. I think its good, the more test the better. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Jennifer, Congratulations on your surgery!  How are you doing?  Are you still in high School?  My son is 18 and my heart breaks for him because of his weight.  Neither he nor I have mentioned surgery (I've had gastric bypass), but I want to be prepared in case he does bring it up.  In my opinion, I give you lots of credit for taking control and for being so brave!  Any details that you'd like to share would be appreciated.   Good luck!

I am doing great with my surgery. I have lost 85lbs since November. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I graduated last year, so I am now in my freshman year of college. I have been looking into having gastric bypass since I was 16, but I had to wait until i was 18 because of my insurance. If you have any questions feel free to message me anytime, and you can read my blog, but I am not sure how much that would help.

I recently have Lap RNY. I had to go through all the testing too. It gives the doctor a better idea of everything. Best Wishes. ♥ Tiffany

Angela,   I cant help with your question I just wanted to tell you what a WONDERFUL life changing gift the band has been for me, and wi**** had been there so much earlier.  It is a great tool that will work with us for the rest of our lives.
