17 years old thinking about get Lap RNY

Well I'm 17 yrs. old and i've been struggling with my wieght most of my life. My mom is going be getting Lap RNY and i have been supporting her. And i really need to do something about my wieght before my health gets any worse...any suggest about the sugery or anything?!? ♥ Tiffany

You have to have the right reasons, the right motivation, and you have to be grounded in your expectations of what the surgery will bring. I've met overweight teens who want to have the surgery for the sole purpose of wearing a bikini and getting a boyfriend. Thanks Ashlee!  I really thought about everything you said..i really think i am ready to go into something like this! Me and My parents talked about everything last night and we're going to be talking to my doctor next week, about getting the approval but with my insurance im going to have to go through the 6 month process which is fine just to learn more about the surgery and afterwards.I added you on AIM so i hope to talk to you soon! ♥ Tiffany
