Topic: RE: VIRGIN HERE - As far as tattoos go.....
Lisa,
For my 1st tattoo I always knew where I wanted it. Just took some time to figure out what I wanted. If you ask anyone who has a tattoo, it has meaning. I have never known someone to just go out and get one. Each of mine represent special meaning or turning point in my life. Each of my tattoo's also represent a point in my life of my growth as a person. I'm not going to lie and say they don't hurt, they do. My last one was an hour long and on my lower back. It hurt like heck (I cryed) and I swore I wouldn't get another one. Yea, right, they are very addicting.
Good luck in finding the one you want.

Emily,
Way to go girl! Congratulation on your 2nd tattoo. Like you I have set a goal for 50 lbs too, and it is going to be my 5th tattoo. My last one was an hour long and on my lower back. It hurt like heck and I swore I wouldn't get another one. Yea, right, they are very addicting.

Hey Dee Dee,
I would talk about it with your surgeon, tell him/her how important your tattoos are to you and see what he/she says. Maybe there is another option that does not require them to remove as much skin. Plastic surgeons deal with things like that alot im sure!!
With love.

Topic: Armband Tattoo and WLS
I have 5 tattoos - and most of them won't be affected if I get to have plastics to remove the excess skin.....but my arm band (it dosen't go all the way around) may get nicked in the skin removal.......
Can we tell the doctor to try and save the tattoo? I really don't want to have to get it touched up - it hurt enough when I got it!!! LOL
I'm basically refusing to think about having "belt plasty" because the MOST sentimental tattoo is the one on my lower back that would get messed up. (It's a butterfly that has my mom's eyes on it....I wish I could post a picture....but I'm so computer illeterate!!!) If I can get it done without them messing up the tat I won't hesitate....but I'm not willing to let that one go!!! (My mom's only been deceased of a year!)
Well....I had to put in my $.02!!!!

Congrats on the 40 pounds and the new tattoo. I am waiting until I am 6 months out for my 5th tattoo.
Topic: My One and Only---So Far
I had cancer last year. While celebrating the good fortune of having caught it in the early stages and receiving the excellent news that it had not spread, I went 'home' for vacation (Washington, DC). To celebrate, two of my four sisters and I decided to get tattoos together. Mine is an angel on my left shoulder. I believe that I have one (or more) angels watching over me and felt it was appropriate. After my surgery, I would like to get another one.

The choosing is the hardest part ot tattoo, in my opinion!
What to get?
Where to put it?
I have a tinkerbell on my right calf, I have always loved tink so one day after a HUGE panic attack, I was driving around and ended up at the parlor and said now is a good time! LOL
I just got a butterfly for my 100 pounds lost, I love them and that really was how I felt, caterpillars are cute, not pretty but everybody likes them ya know...butterflies are beautiful delicate fragile things...much like I am right now!
I had it put on my right breast, high enough that I can show it off without flashing anyone but low enough that my bra can cover it yaknow?
I LOVE IT!
and if I have to have boobs raised later on well...it is high enough that shouldn't bother it!
My honey thinks it is terribly sexy so since he is basically the only one who sees it that is a good thing!

Hi All!
I currently have seven Tat's, and I think the worst one would be my lower back...the nerves back there were shooting down the sides of my knees. The second place in order of pain, I would have to say my foot. Anywho I am totally addicted to Tat's and plan to get more....it makes you a walking piece of art.
