Yes, a cup cake. I must have a cup cake and/or frosting of sorts on my body!
Just came to me.

it's hard to pick a favorite when you've been tattooing your body for nearly 28 years, lol, but I do really love my giant old cootie bug on my right calf. I got a 1950's cootie game and put together a cootie bug in colors that I liked out of the box and took it to Fip Buchanan at Avalon II in San Diego. He drew up the perfect cootie. It's looking up my leg with wonky eyeballs and I always tell people I do have cooties ;)
It was my 40'th birthday present to myself.
I do love my elbow octopus too, and my koi, and they are next on the finishing list!

Ditto what Becca said! If you're still a needle virgin, you might want to start small on a less painful area (like the shoulders or mid-calf). If you get a good artist, they can combine all your elements into something pleasing AND be able to do a smaller bit first to get you used to the needle, and then come back and build the rest around it.

I'd personally get a crawdad (or even a voodoo doll) to commemorate NOLA... I've always preferred quirky images.
