Topic: hello
I have just stumbled upon this forum here and thought I'd say hello. I only have 4 tats right now and really am waiting until I get closer to goal before I start to really get creative with my body art. Though I do already know my BIG next tattoo... I want angel wings on my back. About 1/2 of my back, maybe a little more. I do need some decent sized wings, cuz if they gotta carry me they better be able to support me. lol Anyhow, I'll also have a few feathers falling from them, cuz well.. sometimes I get my feathers ruffled a bit. lol
I think I have my right wrist tattoo at my profile... I'll see about adding the others to it.
So never the less, hello!!!

I checked out that tat, and I have to say... amazing!!!! I can't wait to see it evolve was the color & shading fills in and takes over. It will breath with life before too long. I LOVE it!!! And it does help that you are absolutely gorgeous!!! But that's just a bonus.

Topic: RE: Traits of a good artist?!?
A good artist won't be resistant to drawing you a design from scratch...they won't be afraid to show you a strong portfolio and clean work station and friendly environment. You should be treated with respect, and they should have as much time as you need to make all the important decisions about the EXACT tattoo you want to wear fr the rest of your life......trust your gut when you meet people.....
every piece of equipment (tattoo machine, clip cord, chair) should be covered with fresh PLASTIC sheeting...you should not be made to feel bad for asking about cross-contamination and sterilization....safe practices should be something the artist is proud of!!!
good luck to you...

Topic: My New Tattoo!!
Here's a pic of my new tattoo! I got it at Electric Ladyland tattoo in New Orleans last week. It hurt a LOT, but I'm really glad that I got it! I got my first one in NOLA a couple of years ago and it's a fleu de lis. So, I got this Mardi Gras mask to continue the theme. I truly love the city of New Orleans.

It's pretty red, but this pic was taken right after he finished it.
Love y'all,

Hi LB,
I look for someone that I connect with - someone that still loves their job as a tattoo artist, not some jaded person that no longer enjoys their art. I go by local word of mouth/work I see on other people in my area. Then I take a long hard look at their portfolio and see if I like their style. Do I like their use of color (if the work I'm having is color) or their talent with black and grey. Are they listening to me, do they "get" my idea and run with it making it better than I have in my head (i'm not the artist after all, they are!).
If they try to steer me towards using flash (picking something off the wall or from a book) then I steer clear of them - unless it's their own flash art of course, lol, but then I still want it to be original in some way. I mean a black panther, for example, my 50lb tattoo, is an old school tattoo and there's tons of them out there, so there's only so much you can do with it, but my artist still drew it up original for me so at least he's MY black panther
I hope that helps and didn't ramble on too much, I'm sort of rambly today

I cannot recall the artists name. Actually found her on the net. Sent her pics of us and our kitties, explained he is 6'7" and I'm 5'6" and we love music. SOOOOO, I'm standing on a record crate I insisted she make me fluffy and that's as fluffy as she got! LOL
