I had to take EVERYTHING out, all of them, even the below the waist ones. Once I was back in my room I put in retainers for my tongue and septum, but my labret never closes so I left that out til I got home. My labia piercings I had thought to let close anyway, but eventually put jewelry back in them too - they downsized from 6 gauge to 12, but that was okay with me, I can always stretch 'em back

I love that idea. A good artist can take your description and turn it into something beautiful, you already have your clue
Shop around for an artist whose work/style you like and then talk to them about the idea. You'll know if they get it and they'll work with you for the right result if they are a good tattoo artist - if not, keep shopping around

Sounds like a great idea to me! I would say find yourself an artist that you are comfortable with and ask them to draw it up for you, shouldn't be a problem for them.

I would really like to get a tattoo to commemorate losing 100 pounds..I would like to get a butterfly made out of measuring tape with maybe some pretty bright colors instead of the yellow measuring tape...I just have no idea how that would look. I am not an artist and would hate to go into a shop not having a clue..any ideas? Thanks guys.
