wls tattoo's
I know this post was started a while ago, but I wanted to chime in and also ask a question. I have two tats right now, and have plans for more. Both of mine are on my chest, one on the top portion of my right breast/collar bone area of the Green Man and one on the left side same area of the Spiral Goddess. The Green man is done in grey wash and the goddess is done in grey wash on the upper body with the spiralling bottom of the body done in swirling colors.
My question is this, for those who are post op and had tats that were in an area highly affected by weight lose (breasts, etx) how has that affected your tats? Do they look the same just smaller or do they look all out of proportion now?
Thanks!
Kelle... I've heard a lot of people talk about tats on their chests, backs, and calves that have shrunk with the shrinking of their skin, but I've heard a lot of people say that they still look great- just smaller. I have one on my upper calf and I've noticed that it's shrinking, but the colors are getting brighter. I think I'll wait until after I lose my weight and get my extra skin taken off until I get any more- don't want little ink blobs or anything. Good luck!
Hey Girl! Your ink sounds awesome! I have two right now but I intend on getting more post-op. I want to have my scars covered after I have hit all of my goals. I am sure I will get more before then but I am trying to be careful on how much a get before I have lost the weight. LOL!
BTW- Mine is a Sun and Moon joined together to represent my hubby (moon- "night professional"-- US Army) and me (sun- I was a swim coach & sun baby) and a shooting star flying around us (represents our son) and two smaller stars near me representing my two sisters. This is on my shoulder.
Then I have one on my ankle (celtic triple knot) that my baby sister and I both got in a rich purple and green!
Anyways, off to try and bet my insomnia tonight...LOL!

I love tattoos! They are addictive! I have three and want more! I have a seahorse on my right shoulder blade, a blue rose on my left boob and a teddy bear on my right calf holding balloons with my kids names on them. My oldest son colored that one out of a coloring book when he was little and they did it off of that. They blue rose thing is kinda' symbolic. I have spent a good portion of my life depressed (blue) and now that I am recovered, I have bloomed! (rose). Good luck everybody.

Well, I know this thread was started some time ago...but I just had to add my tattoos. I love my tattoos! I currently have 5 tattoos with plans for more. My first tattoo was done in 1995 and it is a "K", a leo sign, and an "S"...and it is on my right shoulder blade. I call that one my tester tattoo. LOL! Then in 1997 I got a long stemmed red rose with some thin tribal lines around it done on my left shoulder blade (represents my marriage to my husband since the "theme" at our wedding was roses). In 1999 I got a tribal sun with a face on it done on the small of my back. In 2000 I got some roses done on the top of my right foot and then in 2001 I got an identical tattoo done on the other foot. I definately have plans for more. I want to have a Kokopelli done somewhere in memory of my grandparents. I also found this kick ass faery done by Amy Brown called "fire dance". If you do a search amybrownart.com she has a pic of it on her website. I want that one done on my right hip/thigh area. Then someday when I am blessed enough to have children I would like to have their actual foot prints from the hospital (well, maybe shrunk down a bit) done. Not sure where I am going to put those yet...but I will find a place. I have to agree....tattoos are totally addictive!

Hello Angela, I have three: One on the top of my right foot about 2 1/2 inches long it is a lady bug on a small vine with a yellow rose bud at the end, One on my ankle It says Lucas-then has a heart-Greg- then a music note-Zach-then a smiley face, these are my husband and my son's the symbols because they are my heart, my music and my joy. It was done by an artist that had me write out the names and then he copied it to carbon and tattoo'd it on me so it's my writing and that makes it more special it's written in purple, And then I have one on my lower back Going up my spine about 5 inches it is a vine with flowers magenta and white tipped and has a tiny fairy about an inch tall in a blue flowing dress, with her head leaning back like she's soaking up the sun. She's sitting on one of the leaves coming out the side of the stock and attached to it going across my lower back is a tribal about 6 inches in width total, in black and light blue and highlighted in white....I love them and after I get to my goal weight and have a tummy tuck I would like to add a small Hawiian lilly White with fuschia highlights placed on my lower stomach hip bone area...
Hey all --
I have 6 tattoos! And plans for several more! Truly addicting. In fact, my father told me once that when people are getting their first tattoo, they are most often thinking about what the next one will be. I absolutely found that to be true!
My newest one is a Metallica tattoo on my right ankle....my mom even likes it!
WOW!!! I never thought there would be so many people out there with tats that also where going through WLS. Live and learn. OK let me get my 2 cents in. I have 8 tattoos and the only thing that has kept me at that number is how expensive good tattoos are. I also tend to go for big ones that cost more. My first one, I got on my ankle and is of a humming bird (about 4"). That hooked me. My next one was of a black panther that has it's back tattooed with oriental designs that runs up my whole left thigh (12"). Then came a flower to go with the humming bird and a dragon to fight the panther. The dragon took 3 sessons becauce it runs up the front of and into my inner thigh and hurt like hell. I also have an angel on my left shoulder. After we moved to Pennsylvania I found a guy who has been in busness for 30 year and have been going to him for my work. I added 3 more here in PA, a cross in the middle of my chest, a dragon on my upper right chest and a celtic knot w/ dragon on my right arm. All of my tattoos mean something to me and that is why I am so happy to learn that they will not be ruined by my weight loss. I know that some my be damaged by plastic surgery later but I will keep my fingers crossed.
