HELP!!

Hey, I'm 19 years old and I'm looking into getting my first tattoo. I'm really girly and want a tattoo that will reflect that. I have an idea of what I want but i have some questions too. I want a rib cage tattoo with 2 or 3 pink lillies that will go from my top rib down to my lower back. I know it's going to hurt alot but what I dont know is: How can I connect the lillies in a pretty way? How big should the lillies be? Does anyone have an estimate of how much it will probably be? Or does this sound really ugly and should I just try for something else? Any suggestions and/or answers will be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Hi Molly check out some local artists and see what kind of ideas they can offer up to you...any artist that's worth it will sit down with you and come up with some drawings and several variations for you to look at and help make up your mind... I like to google a bunch of different images and bring them to my artist before we start the planning phase...sometimes, when the main image is on paper in front of you, you'll start to get ideas for the "bigger picture"... but flowers are awesome because leaves and vines give you a lot of flexibility in expanding or adjusting the image...maybe you could add a wind or water element...maybe fairy dust or smaller flowers (think baby's breath)...something as simple as sun rays or just swirled color looks beautiful too... the sky really is the limit...check out some artist portfolios and gety a feel for the styles you like and the artists that do it well...I'm sure you'll know it when you see it... good luck!!!
