My Tattoo Idea
I decided at the beginning of my journey that I would definitely get a celebratory tattoo when I made my first goal of losing 100 lbs! I have made my goal (and then some, I'm down 120 so far) and I have decided what I am going to get! I have a basic idea but would love some input or ideas on how to make it extra special!
Here is my idea: I want to get a tattoo on the inside of my left wrist probably about 3 -4 inches long. I want to get a picture of a Blue Morpho Butterfly with a stem of Forget-Me-Not flowers. The butterfly is very unique in that it is kind of plain on the outside of its wings, but very bright and beautiful once it opens them. The significance of the Forget-Me-Not flower is just that, I never want to forget where I came from!
So, let me know what you think. Give me some ideas, if you have any suggestions that would be great!

That will be beautiful!!!
Just keep in mind that to get the most detail in, you may need to go a little larger...I love all the detail in the wings of the last pic!!!
So when are you gonna do this!

Hi Becca! I knew that you would reply!
I was thinking the same thing about the detail...the thing is is that I dont have any tattoo's yet so Im not really sure what to expect. I was also thinking that if I wanted to get it done bigger then I would like to have it done on my left foot.... what do you think about that?
I am hoping to do this within the next month or two. I asked my Dr about it and she said to wait until at least the beginning of March to ensure that my body didnt have to heal from something else so quickly after surgery...
I was thinking of getting the butterfly in the flying position so you can see a little of both wings..... do you think that will look strange because butterflies are supposed to be symetrical?
Sorry for all the questions...but you ARE the expert!

I agree with Becca - if you want detail, you will have to go for a larger area - as for a first tattoo I would suggest getting it somewhere that is less pain full - the foot is one of the most painful areas!! Wrists are a bit sensitive too, depending on the artist and how heavy of a hand they have.
The idea is simply BEAUTIFUL - Make sure to post pics

The foot would be just as beautiful....and it would be cool to get it done sooner....so it will be healed and good to go before sandal season...lol...
don't worry about the symmetry...I don't think (unless you are surrounded by idiots) that the message will be confused!
I LOVE IT!
