I need ideas for my WLS tattoo!
I want something original, not into butterflies or girly things. I want something that will go on the left side of my torso, kind of wrap around from my stomach to my back, something large...something related to the life-changing event I went through. I can't for the life of me come up with anything. If my left side is too big, I would consider the area below my neck, between my shoulder blades I guess. Any suggestions would be so appreciated!

I like to get online and study the different stories and symbols of different cultures...you can find a lot of great ideas in fables and fairy tales too...

I saw this on LA Ink and thought it was awesome and really appropriate for WLS -- a Frankenstein pin up girl.
Non-girly things off the top of my head:
Your favorite painting or photo (I'd love something by Escher, Giger, or Van Gogh)
A cyborg ribcage, like the skin is peeled back to show the machinery
Celtic Tree of Life or Tree of Wisdom
Aztec calendar or sun
A mythical creature (Phoenix, Griffon, Dragon, Mermaid etc)
A pea****
And in case you aren't aware, the rib area is one of the most painful areas to get tattoos, and if you want something big it's probably going to take more than one sitting especially if it's full color.... but if you can handle it, it's sooooo worth it!
