My wife had the bypass on 10/16/07. Since coming home she has had a problem drinking water. She said when she sips it she feels like there is a brick in her chest. It makes no difference if it is cold or room temp she cannot dringk it. She has also had a problem eating different foods. She had her surgery the same day as her sister but cannot eat half the foods her sister does. She is tired and irritable and takes most of it out on me. HELP! Ross

has she talked to her surgeon? she may need her esophagus stretched or something minor....i would start with him/her. and i think that with the bypass what you can and can't eat is different for everyone. make sure she is taking her vitamins...getting the amount of protein she is supposed to...and enough calories... but about the water i would start with the surgeon... and tell her to knock it off with taking it out on you... if she is in a bad mood she needs to tell you she needs to be alone for the day or whatever and let it at that ....trust me i am evil sometimes and this is what i do with my husband lol good luck ross!
