Topic: Sleep Apnea - No Insurance
I believe I have sleep apnea and really want to schedule a sleep study to find out for sure. My only problem is I don't have any insurance right now, and the insurance that I'm going to be on in about 3 months has a $2500 deductible. I want to get the sleep study done asap. Does anyone know about what I would be spending if I got the sleep test and the CPAP machine without insurance?

I think the reason they are only sold in the U.S. is because the software that runs their website can only process orders in the U.S.  I run an online store with the same platform as the SleepWeaver website. If you call the company they should be able to process an order to Canada through check or money order I believe.

Hi, I've also heard from a fellow SA person that putting the hose under the blanket with you helps control the condensation.

Topic: RE: Second Sleep Study Tomorrow
Hi Nicole,  Welcome to this great website and forum.  I am new to this forum as I just got the results of my second sleep study.  I knew I snored a lot and loudly but found out today that I have 'severe SA'..Wow!  The doctor said I stopped breathing 54 times in an hour, that is unbelieveable.  I wake up easily in the morning and don't feel like I've had a rough night at all and only get a little tired late in the day before supper.  So it was a bit of a shock.  I used the nasal machine as I didn't want my mouth to be covered.  It is a little weird at first because you need to keep your mouth shut or the air flow gets messed up and you feel like you're swallowing air but I found that if I took relaxed, slower breaths it was fine.  Breathing out at first seemed strange as you are pushing against the air flow.  Right now I'm at the point that if I need it then I need it and WILL get used to it.  He said if I continued like this I could have a heart attack or stroke within a year.  So I'm all for a CPAP machine, going on Wednesday to pick one up.  Good luck to you with your next sleepover.

I'm in Canada too Spring__ and perhaps if we contacted them or had the place where we get our machines contact them it may encourage them to start selling them to Canadian suppliers.

I checked the site out and too bad it states its only sold in US not yet in Canada. This would be so great for me since I've been breaking out with rashes on my face each time I use my mask. I follow proper cleaning to exact instructions and no relieve yet. I've got resmed swift 4 her.

Any significant weight loss (or gain) can lead to a need for a pressure adjustment.  Congrats on getting to the losing side of surgery and wow, 40 pounds since your sleep study.  Time to call your PCP or supplier of your CPAP supplies and ask for a trial peroid on a self adjusting CPAP to see what your current pressure need is.  My guess is you are no longer needing the pressure of 16.  Feels great to be a loser doesn't it?
