Topic: RE: Free Cpap Machine
Hey Msa. Donna, My name is Genesha Lyons and I am very intrested in the cpap machine thata you had posted about awhile ago. Iam new to this site, but I have been dealing with sleep apnea four over four years now and I have been diagnoised by my physcian. Unfurtionally I do not have health coverage and I can not afford to pay for one at the high prices that I have seen on these search ingeens. I am a single mother of four and in the last week my breathing has stoped twice. This is very important to me if there is anyway possiable that we can discuss this matter further I can be reached @ [email protected] or 216-254-4947 Thank You Ms. Lyons

Go with the saline nasal washes, not the spray. Really clean out the nose.

I also use the breathe right strips when I have a stuffed up nose - Oh and crank up the humidity helps as well.

I get sinus infections about twice a year so this is what I do.(and these are really bad ones, I don't count the cold ones)

My name is Tina, my fiance Dennis has been diagnosed with sleep apnea. It is really scarry staying awake all night listening to him try to breathe. He has no insurance and is currently on unemployment because he was fired from his job for falling asleep. We really need some help getting a cpap machine for him.

Well since I am new to the cpap all I can suggest would be to maybe switch to the full face mask (just til you get over your cold). That way you can breath out of your mouth and still benefit from the cpap. I have a face mask because I sometimes breath out of my mouth. I would say to call your doc or the place where you got your cpap from and ask them. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Also, maybe you should repost this on the main message board as they get a lot more responses because more people frequent that board. Good luck.

I've had much the same experience with waking up and its off.  But over time I am getting more and more used to it.

I have a new problem though I hope someone here can help me with.  I have a little bit of a cold.  I use  the small nasal mask, and with my stuffed nose I can't get enough air because my sinuses are inflamed.  I tried saline spray because they say absolutely don't use Afrin or anything like that (addicitve), but saline doesn't do anything for me.  It actually seems like it might make it worse.  Any tips for dealing with a stuffy nose on CPAP/APAP?

I  am  having  the  sleep  study  this  week.  I  hope  it  does not  hold  up my  surgery.  It  is  the  last  test  before  I  can  set  a  surgery  date.   I  will  be  so  disappointed  if  it  does delay surgery.  I  am  ready  to  get  it  done.  If  WLS  cures  the  sleep apnea  why do  you  need  to  have  the  machine?

There are 4 postings just on page 1 of this forum where people have been able to stop using their CPAPs.

Has anyone successfully come off CPAP after losing weight? One of my goals is to come completely off CPAP.
