the hose just goes under the covers with me - i sleep with the machine close to me on the night stand so it gives me wiggle room

I use a brass bed head board and feed the hose through a shower curtain rod ring and also open the ring to stay around the metalwork in the head board. You could also use a rubberband to hold the hose on your head board and off your shoulder so you can move more freely.

I have only been on the cpap for a little over a week, but find the hose the biggest obstacle.  Any ideas on a stand or a way to rig it so that it still gives a little (to toss and turn) but I will not have to readjust it all the time?

No, I am not a newbie.  I've had it for a couple of years.  I can wear it about 4 hours a night, I ALWAYS take it off.  I cannot sleep face down, but thanks for the suggestion.  I tried the nasal pillow, but that was worse, I have to be able to open my mouth.

I have tried everything I can think of, but I still take my mask off in my sleep

I wear a hat that ties under my chin.  It worked for a little while, now I take it off too.
I keep my machine in my drawer (opened somewhat of course) so I don't turn the machine off.
I wore mittens, but they don't help.
I tried weaving my hair all around the straps, I still took it off somehow.

My husband checks on me, but he has to sleep too!  Help!

I am thinking about taping the clips, but I am sure I will still just yank it off my head without unclipping, I do that all the time.  Plus, I occasionaly feel like I am suffocating and need to unclip for a few minutes.

I have really severe apnea, and need to keep it on.  They told me as long as I can do 4 hours, that's fine - which I do.  But I would really like to keep it on all night.

its not usually that comfy to sleep. if they put you on a machine at night, then that's your indicator that you have had enough episodes to require a cpap. FYI

at about 50 pounds might consider talking to your DME provider about doing a week trial on an auto pap to see if your pressure has changed.

Mine was changed twice in the first year after surgery from 12 down to 7 and still on it. What I noticed most was the dry mouth I was having. seems like when the pressure was too high, my lips opened and dried out my mouth. Normally my mouth never opens while on cpap

Hi! I have had mine since 1997. I too am at 12 pounds. Some people are able to get off of this thing if the snoring is caused by obesity. Others have the obstructive sleep apnea and have to have the machine for life. I really would like to ge off of this thing at night. Not real romantic for hubby, but we survive. Hang in there, your doc will come through! I have faith that you will get your surgery right on time!!!
