Topic: RE: Coming off the CPAP for good
I use a bi-pap and have severe obstructive sleep apnea. I just went for a repeat sleep study (almost 4 months post op) and down 76 pounds overall. It isn't gone. I have to go back for a re-calibration soon.
Topic: RE: Does anyone have ideas to keep the mask on?
I have the same problem too, but I'm a newbie. I have had my machine for a week or so. I figured by now that I would be leaving it on for the night. I even tried taking a sleeping pill last night. I'm getting so good at taking the mask of in the night, that I not only take it off, but I hang it on it's designated hook on the side of my bed!!!
I hope you find a solution soon. I will keep trying to wear my mask for the whole night. In the mean time, I'll keep checking back in with this discussion.
Take care
Mumdeedum LOL - yes, I am good at taking mine off and turning off the machine too. My Ambien doesn't help me keep it on, but it does help me fall asleep with the mask on. My husband has been helping me to keep it on lately, but I don't know if I will EVER be good at it. Good luck and keep me posted!

I know a person who is uninsured and needs desperately a CPAP machine. He has a chronic sleep apnea and hasn't been able to use it because is too expensive and he cant afford it. I'm willing to pay for the shipping to give it to him. His apnea is so severe that he falls asleep everywhere he goes, even when he drives. Hes almost 500 lbs. I will apreciate if you give me more details. Thanks a lot!

Is this something new or an old habit? If it is something new if you have not had your pressure ajusted it might be ti high with you weight loss.
Topic: RE: Cpap issues
I used to keep a water bottle on the side of the bed... til I switched to a machine with a heated humidifier. WAY better.
Topic: RE: new to cpap... any ideas on a stand or holder of some kind?
I keep my hose between the pillow and the headboard.

I have been using a CPAP for about ten years. Mine has a heated humidifier built into it.
For a while, I was waking up with dry mouth and more tired than usual. A chin strap took care of that problem.

I had the same problem when I first started using my CPAP machine, but I had the cushioned inserts installed into the mask. It felt so much more comfortable and if it wasn't for the air being forced into by lungs , I wouldn't know it was on!!!

Try ambien CR (Zolpdiem CR 12.5) i had the same problem, the ambien woke me up when it wore off halfway through the night... that's when I was taking it off.
