Topic: RE: Free Cpap Machine
 Hi Donna
Do you still have your sleep machine? I have no insurance and I lost my job 2 weeks ago, "medical card'  I was a over the road driver. I was told I need to get this so I can sleep a night and lose the weight. I have puffy feet and everything. I really don't like my body right now. If you still have the c pap machine how much would it be to ship and it and can you do COD? Thank you for you time.

Topic: RE: water container problem in humidifier
i had that happen to mine, and i too thought the top did not come off the tank - but when i actually sat and looked at the book there was a small little latch on the tank that pops the lid off. i was sure there had to be a way since it was important to keep it clean - voila there it was. good luck with that.
Be well, and always - take care of you!

I have never had that issue.  Sounds like you might have mold in the tank. You might want to try Control III Disinfectant CPAP Cleaning Solution. I have used this regularly and it works great.  It is the same stuff that the sleep labs and hospitals use to disinfect CPAP stuff.

Gosh, I'm counting on going off this "thing" as well.  I have to go back to my MD.  I'm down 70 lbs, but I don't think that this is enough as yet to even consider it.

Topic: water container problem in humidifier
Has anyone ever experienced a problem in their humidifier tank?  I have a ligt red residue that is in the bottom of the container on the staineless steel portion of the plastic tank. I only use distilled water in this.  The top portion does not come off for a full cleaing and the hole is so mall that you cannot get a brush in.  I have been unable to take a small amount out with the end of a q-tip.  i clean the container with vinegar and water routinely.  I have also tried a mild detergent in there.  Any suggestions?  I'm stumped where it is coming from.  I really want to get it out so that I don't breathe in any of it,  Help! Topic: RE: I have sleep apnea and need a CPAP/ No insurance help!!
I am having the same problem with Sleep Apnea. I dont have insurance currently, I used to have insurance but since I lost my job I am attempting to get on public aid. Every now and then I have an asthma attack and need to go to the emergenct room. They always give albooderal and I feel better but I am afraid I wont make it one time. Also, my sleep apnea is so bad it wakes me up all the time and my wife wont even sleep in my romm because of the snoring, I am going to try and lose weight and see if it helps.

Topic: A Suggestion For C-PAP Mask Issues
While browsing through this category in the forum, I noticed a few people talking about sores from their C-PAP masks. I, too, had the very same problem at first with boils, whiteheads, rashes and sores from my mask but I actually managed to rig something up for myself. I'm not going to guarantee that this will work for everyone but it most certainly worked for me.

So here it is:

- Take a Kleenex (or 4 squares of toilet paper) and fold it down the crease.
- Fold it over again (the same direction) and then again once more.
- Finally, take it from the center and fold it over so it looks like a triangular shape.
- Take your mask and the folded Kleenex and line it carefully over-top of the sides of the mask (the part of the mask that actually touches and sits on your face).
- Try to carefully hold it in place while putting your mask on and adjust your mask as needed.

NOTE: This works better if you usually slip your mask on over your head and your straps are pre-adjusted. I hope this helps for at some of you, at least!
