Topic: CPAP Machines
I have a CPAP Machine that I will let go for basically what my copay was. It was 150 dollars. It is about 2 years old and is a Remstar +. It was only used 2x. Couldnt stand using. Recently had a sleep study and got another CPAP machine that I still hate but I am trying to get used to using it. The Remstar that I have has a humidifier and everything with it. Only thing you would need would be a mask. For anyone that is self paying it may help you out.

If you have insurance it will pay for it. If not I have 2, would be interested in getting with you to get one of the 2 to you. I used my old one about 2 times and if Im not mistaken my copay was about 150 for it. Which is alot less than the 400-600 dollars they cost.

u will have to start over- i am sure u will need another test. so see your dr and get refered to the correct dr and they will order a test.once u have the test they will give u a machine/this will all be paid by insurance as long as u see your dr and get and necessary approvals. just get it done and get the machine - u will feel better.u can tell the dr about your stuffed up nose and they will give u an approriate machine/you arent the first person with a stuffed up nose/good luck

Ok, before anyone tells me, yes I already know I am stupid! I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea a year ago and never got treatment. I have noticed myself waking up more and more gasping for air lately and decided, ok dummy it's not gonna go away on it's own! So now I need to know a few things. How do I go about getting my CPAP? Does insurance pay for it? One of my major problems is that my nasal passage is always "stuffed up", so how will the CPAP help me? Any answers will greatly be appreciated!

Thank you.....I called the sleep lab again today and I am going to pick up the machine this Friday. I guess my test isn't done yet. She said that I am borderline sleep apnea. I woke up 30 times during the night. How many times do you need to wake up to have sleep apnea? I think 30 times is alot! She said that after I bring the cpap back, the doctor will go over it and see if I need one or not. Patty

I had to do mine in two parts one night was the sleep test then the other night many weeks later was the one where they put my cpap on and turned up the air to see what mine would be set on, but how ever I do think there is one out there that kind of sets it's self ,.. maybe you can ask them how will they know what to set it at and see if it's one that sets it's self,,hope that helps ,....shelly

Topic: Question about sleep test....
Hi...my first sleep test was the one that they send you home with. My doctor felt that I needed to go to the hospital for the overnight one. I went in on Dec. 23rd. I have been waiting almost 6 weeks for the results and after calling to inquire, I got a call from the sleep lab. They said that I needed to come in and get a cpap machine to take home for a couple of weeks. She said that the test wasn't complete because the tech didn't come in and put the machine on me. I don't understand this as I was there from 10pm to 6am and there were only 3 of us there instead of the usual 6. There were also 2 techs on that night. How will they know if I have sleep apnea by me taking the machine home myself? She did mention something about if I felt better after taking the machine home, they would order me one. I am totally confused. If anyone has any insight on this, I would appreciate it. Thank you, Patty Riverside
