Topic: CPap related to my gas problem?
I have only been using my CPap for about a month now. I'm not sure of the exact model, but it has a heat optional humidifier and the mask fits around the nose and has a forehead pillow. I love it and sleep much better and feel much better, except for when I wake myself up by breathing out my mouth (I use my chin strap, but I breath through my clenched teeth.) I'm going to start taping my mouth shut tonight for this problem, but the main problem is that since I have been using the machine, I wake up with horrible gas pains. I burp and fart (excuse my crudeness) for what seems like hours. Could this have anything to do with my machine? This has never happened before and my diet hasn't changed. I'm pre-op, but don't eat or drink anything bu****er for at least 1 hour before bed. Could I be swallowing gulps of air while I sleep? Or could my setting be too high and pushing air into my stomach? I really don't mind (go figure) but I'm scared that after I have a RNY maybe this will streach my pouch out. Has anyone had this problem or am I a total freak? I have left a message with the home health provider, but wanted y'alls input in the meantime.
Topic: need help with CPAP
How can I use my CPAP when my nose is plugged up? I am struggling at night and have a horrible cold. I have to wear it, my surgery is scheduled for the end of the month and they will follow up for compliance to make sure I have been using it.
Topic: problems with my cpap
I 've had my cpap for about 2 months. It isn't helping. I'm very tired all day long..I usually can't fuction without 2 naps a day.
I had nose pillows then a chin strap, and now a full face mask. They even turned it up a little bit. .I do know my lowest oxygen level was 79%. . I think the sleep center is getting tired of me making so many apt. Any ideas, I just can't figure out what the problem is?

82% sucks, Whats is happening is that your heart is racing to to pump blood to get more oxgen to your brain to make up for the lake of concentrated o2 as the level of o2 drops, 98% is normal, you exhale 92% , a opd will average 92% and require fulll time oxgen therapy , 82% requires resucitation. and is close to CPR

Some hope for u guys, been on bipap for 12 years, up to 18lbs over 12lbs, apnea was caused by my gerd that caused my obesity, then moobsity, in january decided to have the VA give me a machine so that meant having a study with them, so I did not give them history of previous studies. I get them every year. good insurance.
the center detertermined that I needed c pap at 8 lbs, sleep like a baby. on the new machine. wife is happy, snoring is much improved. Doctor is pleased, and is sending me for a new study to his center too.

Air should not enter your stomach at all, if it does then your epiglotis.UVULA is not doing its job, by directing the air to your lungs in the first place. The pressure is to high,
