Topic: RE: Hybrid Mask by Teleflex
Thanks for the tip about pad a cheek. I just ordered me one from ebay. I really like my Mirage Swift, but I have to also use a wide chin strap to keep my mouth shut. I would really like to try the Hybrid Mask. Maybe when my insurance will cover it again I'll try it. Do You still like your Hybrid more than your mirage swift?

You could try taking some night quil to help you sleep do it several nights in a row to get use to the CPAP unit. Do you have a heated humidifer? That May help also. Other than that call you primary doctor.

Topic: what am i doing wrong?
i"ve had slepp apnea for years and have never been able to wear the cpap. Ive tried everything...differant masks, sleeping in the recliner, lower pressure, higher pressure... I recently got a full face mask and it seemed to be easier to tolerate. I am very claustrophobic, but I talk myself through it and usually am able to fall asleep with it on. However the minute I fall asleep i either wake up ion a panic like Im suffacating or I take it off without ever knowing it. What can I do to keep this thing on? I have to get used to it. Any suggestions?

Topic: RE: Great studies on how sleeping affects obesity and the other way around
wow thanks for sharing those. I was very recently given the cpap, don't even know my diagnosis yet, but am sleeping like a rock with the machine. I hope it helps me lose weight too!!
Topic: RE: I'm a respiratory therapist!!
I have been sleeping with the cpap for about 5 days now. At first I felt sooo good and now I am feeling better, but still a little tired. My machine is set on 9 and I have no complaints except that the seal that goes from pump to the humidifier was not tight (leaked air) and I had to replace it already. Can I use a little duct tape on the seal if it leaks again and I don't have an extra seal? I called the sleep clinic, but have not heard from them at all since sleep study last Friday night.
Topic: RE: problems with my cpap
Is there another sleep center you can try for another opinion on your settings? that must be really rough being that tired all day. If they act like they get tired of you maybe they will refer you to another sleep clinic or respiratory specialist. just an idea...
Topic: RE: need help with CPAP
Have you tried taking benedryl or some other nasal decongestant? I just got my machine and had not even thought about what I'll do in case I get a cold....hmmmm....let me know if nasal decongestant works for you.
Topic: RE: CPap related to my gas problem?
I've had my cpap machine for less than a week now. I'm not burping and farting any more than usual, but I don't think I'm swallowing air. I love my machine too. I hope they call you about this matter!!
