Topic: I have Chronic Insomnia and OSA,
My Ambien isn't working and I can't get to sleep enough to keep my face mask on. I don't know what to do? any suggestions. I have been on Ambien 10mg for over 5 years and just got my C-Pap machine in July of 06. Anyway has anyone had the same problems?

Topic: RE: Taking mask off in my sleep
Yep I used to take my mask off during the night unknowingly as well. I just kept at it and it got better. The longest I've kept it on is about 7 hours but on the average I only sleep for 5 hours so that is pretty much all I do. Good luck and I hope you are getting some restful sleep.

There are chin straps that attatch to the head straps, to keep the mouth closed. Maybe you should ask about the chin strap. I get my machine on Monday. Good Luck, Patty

Topic: How bad is the sleep study?
I'm going tonight for my sleep study and I am so nervous and anxious. I think I need to take tylonol PM before I go there. I had such a hard time staying asleep with the pulse ox on my finger for 1 night I can't imagine all that "spaghetti" attached to me. I got wrapped up in the cord and kept waking up to make sure it was still on my finger. Please tell me it's not that bad!!! Thanks, Jessica

Topic: C-Papp Machine?
Do they ever malfunction, has anyone else had a problem? Since August I have had no problems with the machine. A few weeks ago I started to pull my mask off during the night because I had dry mouth (no saliva). This continued throughout the night with me waking up every 2 hours. I called the company that supplied the machine and they said I was probably sleeping with my mouth open and needed a full mask. Did I just develop this, sleeping with my mouth open? I agreed to get the full mask, but I am not using it because I find it more uncomfortable, a lot nosier, more leaks, etc. So, I am back to the nose mask only. My concern is that I am no longer getting a good night's sleep, I am waking up every few hours and moistening my mouth. Any suggestions? Connie

Topic: Nasal Pillows Use...
Hi All, I switched over from the full mask to the pillows last week..... Well, it's been a rough wee****pt turning over to sleep on my stomach and the pillows shift. I didn't have this much trouble adjusting to the first face mask (laughing) or at least, I don't remember. Has anyone else had troubles with the pillows shifting? How did you keep them centered? The head bands keep sliding around no matter how tight I pull them. Mary

Hey Dre, I have to say a great big DITTO to ya sweety......I am the exact same way with my lil piece of Heaven haha. That is the one thing that I will fight for on this planet is my CPAP Machine. I use a Remstar it is an old one and I have had it since 02 and loving it every day more and more haha......sounds like a real love affair dosent it? Well, it is cos it has saved my life many, many times. The times when I have to be admitted to the hospital, I always take it with me cos that is one thing that is like the American Express Card, as they say...........never leave home without it....... Laying all the jokes aside, yes I was always a bad one to snore too and I even run off all my friends that would spend the night with me when I was a kid. I have even been told that I peel the paint off the walls when I did not have the machine. Most people laugh at the snores and how they sound but many dont stop to realize how dangerous that sound really is. My X once timed me for 3 minutes when I stopped breathing. Now that was a close call haha. I dont know if I will ever be able to ween myself from it. I hope so, cos really the mask is not the most sexy thing in the world is it?? Thanks for your mesg and for letting me chat some, have a great day.....and GOD BLESS YOU!!
