I don't know about NY, I'm in Oregon, but it sure seems like you would qualify for something, it's worth checking into. And you might want to check into your works sick policy, I know where I used to work, if you called in more than 3 times in a 3 month period, you were disaplined. But check into the disablity thing, what would it hurt?

Thanks I'm going to try the pillow mask and one is supposed to be sent to me.  Another problem is I've always rolled around at night which is another reason I'm not able to get used to it.  Things are getting a little better for me though.

I haven't had this particular problem..but I have noticed if I use the humidifier, it leaves water in the tube, and that sometimes runs into my nose...or gathers in the tube, and makes loud noises. lol...I will be so glad when I don't have to use this machine any more.

Topic: What part of "EXHAUSTED" do you not understand????

Hello all:

I am sure alot of us here expierence daily fatigue some days worse than others.  But here is my problem, I have sleep apena, leaky heart valves among other medical problems that render me fatigued throughout my days, so bad that sometimes I call out sick from work.  I cannot get used to this cpap machine because i have post nasal drip, more like POST NASAL SLUDGE (eeeewww), and allergies that makes using this thing that much harder!  Anyway, my son's father knows about all my condition and still has an attitude with me because when I call out sick from work I am supposed to be home cleaning the place top to bottom...I mean, duh if I told him i called out from work because I am exhausted..i am home resting not getting all Merry Maid around the house!  Dont get me wrong, the place isn't so messy its an embarrasment or anything like that at all.  Besides I always like to do my housework during the weekends.  When I come home from work I cook and I clean-up after myself but that isn't enough with him, not to mention cleaning up after my 3 year old son.

Not only do I have to deal with attitudes at home but also at work with my supervisor who likes to yip yap about me all the time to her so-called friends....I smell a HIPPA violation here!  She has a serious attitude with me about  calling out sick and I haven't gone over my sick days at all.

Question:  does anyone know about disability in New York?  Would multiple medical conditions make me eligible for disability?

I was paying around $12K CAD ($9750 USD) for surgery and the doc said I had to quit - so I did, cold turkey, hubby did too, at the same time as me.  Hubby apparently had already planned to quit over the Xmas holidays but didn't tell me til I said I had to quit too.  So it's been alot easier with no one else smoking in the house.  I actually talk about the quitting in my OH blog, check out from January 1st onwards, that's the day I quit :)

Topic: RE: Problems with post nasal drip and CPAP
Hi, I actually have the same problem, though yours sounds more severe.  I have had post nasal drip and allergies for a long time now.  My primary care doc only prescribed nasacort, i saw an ENT and she prescribed allegra.  I am starting the allegra today unsure if any of this is going to help me get used to that darn cpap machine.  Most of my days are fatigued, sometimes I have to stay home from work to try and get some rest.  Thanks for your post because I am considering the tonsil and adenoid removal for some relief with this problem.  Even though doctors i have spoke with all say it is a 50/50 chance of some relief.  Good luck to you!
