Topic: RE: how does one get used to a cpap?
I am sorry this is so far from your post date, but I just found the forum. I would suggest that you make sure to get a humidifing cpap and one that has a ramp feature. I did not take 6 weeks to get adjusted and see results. It was literally like a week. I could tell I felt better right away.
My sleep study tech told me to work up to a full night. Like 1/2 hour and then an hour, then 2....whatever works. She also said even 5 hours with it on will give you noticable results. I have found that to be true.
I do get a headache if I do not wear it, and I am sleepy as well.
I wish you the best getting adjusted as you will feel soooooo much better when you get it on.

Topic: RE: COLD NOSE
I've used nasal pillows since I started CPAP back i*****
For me it's the outside of my nose that gets cold - maybe it's poor circulation. (our old house is very cold in winter). Unfortunately airflow makes too much noise to cover it up at all.
Also have dry eyes issues due to airflow when getting up in the morning.

Topic: RE: New here
I've been on CPAP since 1994. I also had 3-4 migraines a week for several years and my weight and job stresses gradually increased. (I had to take 6 ibuprofen 200 mg tabs to relieve them each time) The middle or end of the workday was always when I'd get them.
It turns out my headaches were caused by hypertension. I am currently on 2 medications for blood pressure and the headaches only happen about once every other month now.
You may want to start checking your blood pressure at home.

Topic: RE: wet face
I have had that before. It happens if I use too much humidity. I can only put it on one. I would have loud noises and bubbling. I hate it too. I can't wait until I am off of the thing.
Topic: RE: Water in the tube from the humidifier?
Happens to me all the time during the winter months it is the worst. You can get a fabric wrap to go around the tubing if turning the setting down doesn't help.

Hi JoJo3147,
I'm there with you on the Apnea and the sinus/allergy stuff it is absolutely rough.
Do not allow this to be your defeater. I got fired from my job because I did not know I had sleep apnea so bad I was getting zero REM sleep and was making errors at work. Then I couldn't get unemployment because it was disciplinary.
My silver lining was that as soon as I lost my BCBS,Nc my TRICARE Standard said yes we will pay for your WLS.What a Blessing in disguse!Hang in there and call the Social Security people in your state and ask about applying for it. Ruth

If your humidifier is heated you might try adjusting the temperature as you may be getting condensation in the tube.
