Hi Diana,
Thanks for your time to respond. I am going to meet with my surgeon for bariatric surgery on March 25. I wondered if some day  if I lost enough weight that I might not need the c-pap anymore. I know how important it is to use my c-pap. I also believe that he would be happy to know his death brought awareness to others to be checked for sleep apnea. I have children and married. What a loss that could have been if it had been me.  would have never been checked if it weren't for his death. Thank you for caring!!

Hi!

Thanks for responding! Do you know what the name of your new medicine is? I'd like to ask my doc about it. Of course, I really don't want to take ANOTHER pill! I thought thr cpap was supposed to help with the tiredness....grrrr

Anyway, thanks for your input!
My husband does great with his. He won't sleep without it now. But for some people it works differant.  They have lowered my pressure from 12 all the way to 5 to try to make it more usable for me. I don't have the medicine here at work. I will let you know what it is. So far today I feel great and I was up a lot last night. We will see how it works as the day goes on. It is only 10:30 here.
The medicine is Provigil C IV (Modafinil) 200Mg Tablets
I was awake til nearly 2 in the morning. Hope it goes a little better tonight. The upside Is I kept the mask on, and my mouth did not dry out. I feel really good today as well. I got so much done at home last night. Ususally I am dead when I get home, but I was awake and really on track! wow!

Holly,

Sleep apnea is one of the covered co-morbidities under my insurance that if you have you are eligible for the WLS. Check out your insurance coverage policy.

Topic: Mask with no Plastic or Silicone?
Also,
I am currently not having my sleep apnea treated, because I am allergic to the plastic &/or silicone of the sleep masks.  I cannot wear band-aids or use steri-strips, etc. because of skin allergies.  Does anyone else out there have this problem, and do you know of any masks that have no plastic or silicone in them?
