Hi- I am 3 weeks into cpap and i love feeling rested but after the first few nights, I wake up with my eyes all crusty and I don't know why. I'm thinking the mask is irritating them or I have air leaks there. Any one else know the answer? Thanks!

You have to be come leader of the pack or you will have problems later on. Watch the Dog Whisper on National Geographics channel, you will learn a lot about dogs and how to become the pack leader not the follower. I am training my dogs, I have 3, a Boston terrier, a Jack Russell terrier, and a Rat terrier. And they are now learning that I am leader of the pack, not them. And this is all for their saftey. Good luck. Hugs, Lynda

You know, I never thought about that. I have crusty eyes in the morning also but I just assumed it was because I was actually sleeping all night long. I wonder if it is actually the CPA*****t. Lia

Hi, I also have crusty eyes really bad in the mornings. I was wondering what it is from. I'm thinking it has smething to do with the mask also.

I have the same problem. I've been using the CPAP about 6 months now and I use the mask that covers your nose only. My eyes get crusty too, but even more than that they are watery. I figured it was happening from the air leaking out around the mask or maybe the air that is being forced in from the CPAP is coming out through my eyes (Hey, that may sound crazy, but all I can think of is how it's all connected...you know how you see those guys on TV that pour milk in their nose and shoot it out their eyes. Ok, maybe you haven't, but I have. lol) They are especially watery when I get up in the morning but it can last for hours and hours afterward. How annoying! But the benefits of the CPAP far outweigh any problems I've had with it so far.
