I will be having surgery on tuesday ( lap band ). I just stated the c-pap machine on thursday and have averge about 2 hours a night with it on, then I have to take it off because bothers. Doc says you just have to get use to it... Did anyone have to take there machine to the hospital? Thanks for any info you can provide. ( any tips would help ) Joe

Typically they recommend taking the CPAP with you to the hospital. It can help speed up your recovery and prevent other resperatory problems. Samantha

I took it to the hospital. It makes sense. Other machines and, especially, masks, can be annoying and unusable. Donna

hi back to you !, it took me a year to get used to mine, seriously i could not stand to wear it because the pressure was too high , 27.5 lbs I am on a bi-pap machine because my apnea is so bad 105 apneas per hour, anyway i just couldnt wear it, when i getting ready for my gastric rny , they sent me to a pulminary doctor and he asked if i was using the machine, i told him i couldnt because of the uncomfortable air pressure, and he lowered it to 18 lbs in november and it took me a week to get used to it, now i sleep usually 5 to 6 hrs a night and feel much , hope i can get off of it soon after surgery !!!!, ps i wear a full face mask !!!! hang in there and keep trying , you will soon get used to it. curtis

Hi. The machines just take time to get use to them. Good luck with the surgery. Carol
