I have been on CPAP for a year and a half, when I did my sleep study I used the Nasal Aire but insurance wasn't going to cover it. So I tried the regular mask that covers the nose only. I am allergic to it and my eyelids get swollen often. I decided I would go ahead and get the Nasal Aire and I tried it last night the first time. It was so loud with the air that comes out the front of the nose piece. I turn over alot and I couldn't get it stay on. It was the worst night sleep. I want to continue to use my old mask but it is so worn I have to tape it together to keep it from falling apart. I feel like I will have to pay for most of the nasal aire, because insurance pays some and then I won't be eligible for another mask for six months. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the nasal aire work better for me?

I have been using the nasal air for about two weeks now and am running at 9cm I found that if I first adjust the neck band then the bolo and then adjust the headband it makes for a very tight fit and I can have very good movement I have even unplugged the main tube form the CPAP and walk around to turn out lights and ge****er no problem however I feel like an alien when I'm doing that and my kid thinks it's funny.... AS for the noise I set my unit for a 20 min ramp which starts out a at 4cm and build up after 20mins I'm asleep and only notice when I wake up how loud the air is but it does not bother me when I'm sleeping I hope this helps good luck

Please do stick with it! I've been using it for years, after trying about 6 others, and I wouldn't use anything else! You do need to try adjusting the bands ... the headgear helps the most, but I personally don't like anything on my head so I do without it. As for the air, the ramp is necessary. Also, were you fitted properly? The air should NOT be escaping like that! I got mine on ebay, for a decent price, if your insurance won't cover it. (Most will only do one every 6 months.) Also, is this the Nasal Aire II, or the original? The II is much better for noise, I have found! Please don't give up on it yet! ~~ Leslie
