Ok everyone. I'm sorry I left you all hanging. You can look down to my last post in Feb. and see what was going on, but the gist is that my DH hates my cpap machine. He was making very rude comments and pulling on my tubing just to irratate me. It worked, and I stopped using the machine......... I know, I know...........dumb move there Laurie!!! But that is what I did. For a month I went without it. He never said a word!!!! NOTHING! By the third week I was so tired that I was having to take a nap in the afternoon. I just couldn't force myself to stay awake. After much evaluation, I know that our relationship is in the garbage can. He "should" be wanting me to wear it. He "should" be waking me up in the night (when I take it off in my sleep). He "should" love me enough to want my health to be a priority and not an inconvience!!!!!! So, I went back to my cpap!! YUCK - the first two weeks really sucked. Every morning I'd wake up with the darn thing off. I don't remember taking it off or shuting off the machine. But I kept trying, and wore it each and every day. For the past two days I've kept it on all night, and have slept better then I have in years!!! I feel so good, so rested, it's wonderful!!! I am loving my machine now!!!!!!! And I absolutely REFUSE to not use it at night!!!! My kids have asked me about it, and I tell them that I use it so I can breathe at night. If I didn't I could die. I want them to understand that it is serious too!! Thanks everyone for your emails and concern. I'm over it now!! He's not but that's not my problem. I'm so glad that you all are here to give me a kick in the pants when I need it!!!!!

Your DH is the one who needs a kick in the pants, not you. It's amazing what jerks the ones who are supposed to love, honor and cherish us can be. Your health is the most important thing in the world because you can't do anything without it, can't take care of your kids or you. So keep wearing that CPAP! I get mine tomorrow. I cannot wait. I have not slept over 1-2 hours at a time for years, but was able to sleep for FOUR HOURS with a CPAP on Monday night. I will be getting my own CPAP tomorrow. Didn't get it today because I had trouble with my insurance, which you can understand because I read your profile. I have Aetna too. What idiots! I had to talk to 6 different people today before they agreed I could get the CPAP. My BMI is 51-something, I have severe sleep apnea, etc., etc., etc. and they told me they would send it to review and get back to me. I finally threw a fit and will be getting my CPAP tomorrow. They have already turned down my request for WLS. I have completed all their prerequisites, except for the last two months of my 6 months diet. We had thought we could go ahead and turn in the papers and they could approve it and then I could schedule the surgery for immediately after the 6 months diet. But no, they denied me stating they had no information, that I had sent in no papers. Liars! The papers were faxed to them. I read someone else's profile where they faxed the papers FOUR TIMES in one day to Aetna and Aetna insisted they never got the papers. If I had known then what I know now, I would NEVER have chosen Aetna as my insurance. NEVER. But I'm stuck with it, so I have to jump through their stupid hoops. So hopefully I'm not going through all this for nothing. Anyway, just wanted to say and tell you to hang in there. Do not let something as trivial as a stupid man injure your health. I cannot believe anyone would be that mean...but hey, I've been married before, so I know how they can be. I highly recommend divorce. Ah, sweet freedom. Anyway, you stick by your guns and hang on to that CPAP! Hugs, Joni

Thank Joni - I agree with you! I am using my machine regardless of what he thinks. It's been so great to feel rested. I actually went on two different walks yesterday. It was 74 degrees here in Michigan and my kids and I took advantage of it and enjoyed the outdoors!! CPAP - I'm glad you're getting yours. Aetna paid for mine at 90 percent without any problems What a screwed up system they have. I use the Nasal Air II and I 99% love it. The only part I don't like is that I got a cold and my nose was kind of raw from blowing.... now that I'm using the nose thing every night, I can't get rid of the rash on my nose. I have VERY sensitive skin though so that may be the problem. You're going to love the sleep you get. Just be prepared to have to adjust to it for a few weeks. I sure did!!! Aetna - Can we all say GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I don't think I've updated my profile. I was denied RNY because they say there was no documentation submitted. I don't know cuz Cori lost my file and all my records. But I had them all at home too. So I sent in my OWN appeal!!!! I requested from them all the documentation used in my original determination. They have never sent them. I ended up mailing in my appeal without knowing what docs. they had the first time. But I sent in everything that could possibly be needed. And I sent it all in certified overnight!!!! So, I know have proof of when they received it. It's been a week now. I know they have 30 days and they took all 30 days last time before telling me no. But if this appeal doesn't work then, I'm getting an attorney to fight it for me. I don't want to go another year without WLS!! And it's a covered freakin' benefit on my policy!!! I pay for it in my premiums and I'm gonna get my sugery!!!!!!! You keep fighting girl - we're worth it!!!
