Ok, I am going tent camping with my daughter and her Girlscout troop in 2 weeks. I will be for 2 nights. What the heck do I do about my CPAP? Will it hurt me to go 2 days without it? I just started treatment with it 2 weeks ago. We go camping very often as a family also, what do I do? JoAnna Pre-Op

Joanna, Hi...I just got my cpap machine a couple weeks ago. I got mine thru Apria. If I remember correctly, there is an adapter that you can get to take it camping with you that runs on batteries. I think you can get it thru them or thru Radio Shack. Good luck.... Patty

the selection of cipap machines has models that run on 12vdc and use ac transformers to power them at home, so they actually work off card power cords, and a marine battery will take u camping,. typically the machines are initially rented to buy, to be sure the pt tolerates them, go back to your provider and get a different model. get heated humidifier also, make a world of difference.

Hi JoAnna I have been dealing with sleep aepnea for several years now and I too love to go camping with my family. It use to be that I could go backpacking but with my added weight and the sleep aepnea, I am restricted to car camping. I have a c-pap machine that has an dc adapter that you can hook directly to a marine battery. The battery is heavy, but if you are going car camping it doesn't matter. The charge in the battery will last for about 20 hours using the machine, so you can get three days out of it if you don't sleep too long. The name of my machine is a REM star Pro C-flex c-pap machine. I hope that helps Sincerely Jim LovellFord
