Still tired - trying autopap

Ok, I've been on my CPAP since the beginning of January. I wear it every night. It doesn't bother me at all. I use the nasal pillows. If I were to rate how tired I am during the day on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being just as tired as I was before CPAP, I would rate myself a 9. I've talked to my doctor about this and he is going to have me try something called an Autopap machine for 2-3 weeks. Apparently, this machine auto adjusts the pressure based on need throughout the night. It keeps a record stored in it, as to what pressure it's been giving me. My doctor hopes this will show that my CPAP machine isn't set at the right pressure (currently 11). I just want to feel rested again and not tired throughout the day. I don't know what it feels like anymore to "not" be tired. Ed

Ed, Hope that it works out for you! I am still tired and have been on my cpap since 1-7.....I wish that they would let me try the autopap and see if my setting is right. I have talked to them several times and nothing! Sue

Shelly, I used to sleep and breathe through my mouth all night. Now, with my CPAP I don't think I'm doing that. Everytime I wake up I seem to be breathing through my nose and I don't have "dry mouth" anymore in the morning. I do have a chin strap, but haven't used it because I didn't think I needed it. Perhaps I'll give that a try. Good luck to you! It's coming fast! Ed
