Hi all- I just got my CPAP yesterday and opted for the mask that goes into your nose. I had some issues with water dripping out and now my nostrils are chapped. Is there anyway I can do something about this. Other than that it wasn't a bad night at all.

I didn't have any problem with water dripping, but my nose was very raw every morning for quite some time. I used thick lotion to lube up my nose before bed. That helped for a while. Then I stuffed cotton balls between my upper lip and mask, which helped reposition the nose pillows. About three months into using my mask, I was FINALLY able to use it religiously and the rawness stopped. It will take some getting used to, but you'll feel better. I didn't even know I was tired until I was using the mask all night...then I realized how run down I had been. Good luck!

Hi Christine....my doctor told me to get this stuff in a tube called "AYR". It is a saline nasel gel and its sold over the counter at your pharmacy. It seems to help with the chapping and with the nasel dryness that occurs. Now if I could just get used to wearing the stupid cpap Id be ok!! good luck, Mary Brake

Cpap, your machine may have a dial to turn down the humidity, that should stop the water issue. If no dial, call your respiratory therapist and ask them what to do.

The only time I have water come out is if I over fill the water tank for the humidifer, check that
