Hi.. I had my laparoscopic surgery in February 2002. I did have a lot of complications including the anastomotic leak. I had to be admitted a second time and it was found that I had an abscess. The night, of the day it was drained, I was taken off my Bi-Pap by the Pulmonary Department. Being off of it since then, my internist wants me to get a sleep study done now. Question: Has anyone who had sleep apnea pre-op been taken off their machine that quickly or heard of anyone that happening to? I will appreciate your response. Thank you. J.M.

J.M. I work for a sleep lab in Texas. I hope you are re-tested. Sleep apnea can cause other complications as well. Please inform your doctor and schedule your test as soon as possible.
