Do I? or Don't I??
I just had my sleep study done last night. The tech man said if he saw a problem while I sleep he would come in and put the cpad machine on me. Well, he never came in to do this. Does this mean I do not have sleep apnea? I have to wait 3 weeks for my results. I asked the tech guy if he thought I had sleep apnea. He said, "I didn't put the cpac machine on you, did I?" He "never" told me since he couldn't since he wasn't the doctor. Is it possible to have sleep apnea and not required the machine? I am afraid my insurance will not qualify me for surgery if I didn't have it. What are your thoughts. Do I? or Don't I? I sure hate the waiting game!! Thanks!!

I got diagnosed with sleep apnea almost a year ago. But during the 1st study, even though later on I learned I had a pretty obvious and bad case of it, the technician never put a cpap machine on me. So I don't think that's a sign of you not having it. I had to go back for my 'mask fitting' which is when they introduced me to the cpap. I think part of why he didn't put a machine on you is because he wouldn't know what 'setting'/prescription to put it to. That's for the doctor to decide when he looks over your results.
Do you feel you have sleep apnea or was it just part of the routine pre-surgery testing?
